League Rules

  1. Matches
    1. Matches are played on Monday evenings starting at 20:30
    2. Matches comprise of 10 singles frames split into 2 groups of 5 frames
    3. Players cannot play 2 consecutive frames nor more than once in a 5 frameset
    4. All games must be played in a sportsmanlike manner and throwing/undoing cue is a forfeit of frame
    5. Balls must be racked up for the first frame at 20:30 if the opposing team has not turned up then the first frame can be claimed. Further more the match can be claimed 6-0 at 20:45 if a minimum of 3 players are not in attendance. Match Forfeit will be applied regardless of whether the match has started or not (as per 2.3 below)
    6. Matches are to be played to EPA International Rules (found here)
    7. Rescheduling: In the event of a match not being able to be played for whatever reason. The following can occur
      1. Play at neutral venue
      2. Switch the venue (if in first half of the season, the return leg must also be switched)
      3. Forfeit the match (The non forfeiting captain must submit a result as per 2.3 below). Northampton Open Pool league encourage teams to give more than 24hrs notice as a courtesy, this also reduces wasted food at the home venue.
      4. Postponement
        1. Games must be played within 4 weeks of the original scheduled date but not in the last 4 weeks of the season.
        2. A game cannot be postponed if it is scheduled to be played during the last 4 weeks of the season.
        3. The captain requesting the postponement is required to inform the league the game is being rescheduled immediately along with the new scheduled date once agreed. As with 1.7.3 we ask that you give atleast 24 hours notice to the home venue
  2. Results
    1. Results submission
      1. A photo of the card can be sent via Facebook msg or email (See contacts page)
      2. It is the winning captains responsibility to send in the result
      3. In the event of a draw we suggest both captains send a photo of the card
      4. In the event of a match not going ahead due to opponent not showing up, please submit a 6-0 result
    2. Late Results
      1. A result is considered "late" 20:30 the following Monday
      2. A void will occur and score of 5-5 will be automatically assigned with no points awarded
    3. Forfeit
      1. A match is forfeit on receipt on a 6-0 entered card.
      2. Non forfeiting team will be awarded 2 points and 6 legs
      3. Forfeiting team will be deducted 2 points and 6 legs against
    4. Incorrectly filed cards will be void result
    5. Points are awarded as follows, 2 for a win and 1 for a draw
